Sixth Case of Rat Lungworm Confirmed in Hawaiʻi

The sixth individual was an adult resident of the US mainland and was traveling in West Hawai‘i when they were infected with rat lungworm disease.

Three Unrelated Cases of Rat Lungworm Confirmed

With the additional confirmed cases of rat lungworm disease, this brings the statewide total to five in 2019, all of which were contracted on Hawai‘i Island.
