Out of the 99 moorings at Lahaina Harbor, a row of 13 boats appears largely unscathed

“Most of the 13 boats, as well as the pier they’re tied to, appear to be largely untouched by the flames of Aug. 8,” according to the state Department of Land and Natural Resources. “One boat, the Reel Luckey, the last name of its owners, is a metaphor for the line of white vessels, still afloat in stark contrast to the blackened landscape, buildings, and harbor structures.”

Luxury Yacht Owner to Pay $100,000 for Coral Damage

The state Board of Land and Natural Resources voted Friday to impose a $100,000 fine on the owners of a luxury yacht that damaged hundreds of coral colonies when its anchor swung through the coral bed during an incident in October of 2018 at Kailua Bay on Hawai’i island.

Atlantis Adventures Suspends Submarine and Cruise Tours

Atlantis Adventures today announced that all submarine tours at its Waikīkī (Oʻahu), Lahaina (Maui) and Kona (Hawaiʻi Island) dive locations, and all dinner and whale watch lunch cruise tours offered aboard Majestic, have been temporarily suspended for two weeks through Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
