Three Hawaiʻi state legislators and a member of the Honolulu City Council are in Washington D.C. today sharing their insights about matters facing Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders at the White House. Senators Dru Mamo Kanuha and Jarrett Keohokalole, Representative Darius K. Kila, and Honolulu City Council Vice Chair Esther Kiaʻāina have all been invited to the White House to attend the inaugural White House Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander (NHPI) Convening.

Hawaiʻi Sea Spirits LLC (producer of OCEAN Organic Vodka) is to receive a $10 million Business and Industry Loan Guarantee to assist the small organic cane sugar farm, providing the opportunity to expand its business in the distillery, retail and commercial kitchen café business on 80 acres on the Island of Maui. 

To kick off National Homeownership Month, the US Department of Agriculture is highlighting federal programs that help people in rural, tribal and underserved areas buy, build and repair affordable homes — and to pay their rent.

US Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra today launched the Biden-Harris Administration’s White House Initiative to advance equity, justice and opportunity for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI), with Native Hawaiian Krystal Ka’ai serving as its Executive Director.

The Biden-Harris Administration provided $297,174 to support six rural health clinics in Hawaiʻi with COVID-19 vaccination efforts during a time when many communities are facing increased challenges caused by the highly contagious Delta variant.
