#cane burning dangers

Maui’s health officer has grown impatient with some administrators in the health care system, who he complains are preventing his team from finishing what could be a definitive look at the health effects of cane smoke on the island.

“Our petition is getting noticed and we assume that Cumberland is not happy to see its “healthy” product the subject of CO2 and health complaints.”

“…large scale harvesting of unburned cane in Hawaii is not viable and maintaining the ability to burn is still an important factor in the survival of the company and the jobs it provides to Maui residents.”
