Olinda Returns to Chloramines for Water Disinfection
The Maui Department of Water Supply plans to switch back the distribution system disinfectant for the Upper Kula water system from chlorine to chloramines on or around Wednesday.
Upper Kula Water System to Remain on Chlorine
The department had planned to resume production at the Olinda Facility this week; however, due to unanticipated equipment problems the Olinda WTF will remain offline until further notice.
Olinda Water Facility Returns to Chloramines for Disinfection
The DWS began a temporary switch to chlorine in November due to the near-empty conditions of the Upper Kula reservoirs. The disinfectant used for the Upper Kula water system will be switched back from chlorine to chloramines on or around Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
