US Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaiʻi led all Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and several other colleagues in introducing a resolution reaffirming diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) as fundamental American values.

US Sens. Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hawaiʻi) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), both members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, introduced the Keep Americans Safe Act to reinstate a nationwide ban on the sale, transfer, possession, import or manufacture of high-capacity gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

US Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) – a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs – and US Senators Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Chris Coons (D-Del.) introduced the Student Veterans Transparency and Protection Act. The bipartisan legislation would improve veterans’ access to information about higher education and allow the Department of Veterans Affairs to restore benefits that veterans use at schools subject to civil enforcement.
