Conservationists want to restore cloud bridge that once brought rain to leeward Haleakalā, Kaho‘olawe

To bring back the cloud bridge requires restoring the forests that disappeared due to wild animals, ranching and the U.S. military’s bombing of Kaho’olawe.

Kanaloa Kahoʻolawe fundraising farm dinner at Mākena Golf & Beach Club 

Mākena Golf & Beach Club will host I Ola Kanaloa, a fundraising dinner event honoring local organizations Protect Kahoʻolawe ‘Ohana and Kahoʻolawe Island Reserve Commission for their work towards supporting Kahoʻolawe.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the honorees.  The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mākena Golf & Beach Club’s Nāulu Farm.

Watershed Fundraising Farm Dinner at Mākena Golf & Beach Club, Sept. 7

Mākena Golf & Beach Club will host Ulu Mai he Wai, a fundraising dinner event honoring local organizations, Kula Community Watershed Alliance, Uhiwai O Haleakalā, and Mauna Kahālāwai Watershed Partnership, for their work towards supporting Mauiʻs watersheds.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the honorees.  The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Mākena Golf & Beach Club’s Nāulu Farm.

Fundraising dinner in Mākena to honor three food-related nonprofits

The honorees are the Maui Food Bank, Maui Hub and Grow Some Good for their work towards food liberation on Maui.
