Volunteer, off-duty, law enforcement officers are set to take their community spirit to new heights during Special Olympics Hawaiʻi’s annual Badges and Buckets fundraiser throughout the month of September.

Donations collected from Cop on Top directly benefit Special Olympics Hawaiʻi and their efforts to provide sports programs for athletes year-round.

This year’s Cop on Top event kicks off today at WalMart in Kahului and at Maui Safeway stores at in Kahului, Kīhei, Lahaina and Maui Lani.

Law enforcement officers on Maui will climb atop Walmart in Kahului where they will camp on the roof and seek donations to assist more than 200 local athletes in the Special Olympics program.

The 12th Annual Cop on Top fundraiser for Special Olympics kicks off this Thursday, Sept. 12 at the Walmart in Kahului. During the three-day campaign, local law enforcement officials will ascend to the rooftop to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics in Hawaiʻi.
