New COVID-19 vaccines available with enhanced protection for Omicron variant

The Hawai‘i Department of Health and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend use of the new 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccines that recently were approved and authorized by the US Food and Drug Administration.

This morning, state epidemiologist Sarah Kemble, spoke from the Lahaina Comprehensive Health Center to media over Zoom that cases seem to be mild at this time, however, she encouraged people to get vaccinated and boosted.

Jan. 30, 2022 COVID-19 update: 7 deaths and 2,741 new infections in Hawaiʻi

The Hawaiʻi state Department of Health reported 2,741 new COVID-19 cases today and seven deaths, five on O’ahu, 1 on Maui and 1 on the Big Island. The deaths bring the total to 1,180 in Hawaiʻi.

Jan. 29, 2022 COVID-19 update: 9 deaths and 1,860 new infections in Hawaiʻi

The Hawaiʻi state Department of Health reported 1,860 new COVID-19 cases today. This number continues the downward trend from a record high of 6,252 new cases reported on Jan. 18, 2022. But there were nine new COVID-19 deaths reported, all on Oʻahu.

Oct. 11, 2020 COVID-19 Update: 103 New Cases (79 on Oʻahu and 24 on Hawaiʻi Island)

There were 103 new COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i today, including 79 on the island of O‘ahu and 24 on Hawai‘i Island. Kaua‘i and Maui reported no new cases today. Hawai‘i’s COVID-19 death toll increased to 169, with one new death reported since yesterday on O‘ahu. Details are pending release.

There were 73 new COVID-19 cases reported on Oct. 10, 2020 in Hawai‘i, including 59 on the island of O‘ahu and 14 on Hawai‘i Island. Kaua‘i and Maui reported no new cases today. There were two deaths reported, in Oʻahu.
