A 67-year-old Kīhei man suffered critical, life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a vehicle while bicycling along the Honoapiʻilani Highway on Saturday afternoon. Police say a preliminary investigation reveals the bicyclist was traveling westbound on the shoulder, made a left into the roadway where he was struck by a black 2020 Nissan Maxima sedan, which was traveling westbound.

Two teens were transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition after the vehicle they were in collided with a tree in the center median.
