Cultural Series Features Haku Lei Making, Traditional Games
Haleakalā National Park continues its Hana Noʻeau cultural demonstration series this Sunday, June 21, with haku lei making and traditional Hawaiian games, led by Piʻilani Lua. The demonstration will run from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Kīpahulu District of the park in East Maui.
Haleakalā Cultural Demo Series Begins on June 1, 2015
Haleakalā National Park launches this year’s Hana Noʻeau cultural demonstration series on Monday, June 1, 2015. The series kicks off with a demonstration by cultural practitioner Bolly Helekahi in the Kīpahulu District of the Park. Helekahi will teach coconut weaving between 1 and 3 p.m. Hana Noʻeau refers to demonstrating and honoring Native Hawaiian traditions.
Practitioners Wanted for Cultural Demonstrations at Haleakalā, Kīpahulu
Haleakalā National Park announced that it is seeking cultural practitioners for a series of cultural demonstrations that will be offered in the Kīpahulu and Summit Districts of the park. This is the second year in a row that the park is offering the demonstrations as part of its Hana Noʻeau series.
