The 3rd annual TEDxMaui event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 28, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Castle Theater.

Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng, the half-sister of President Barack Obama and international studies educator, has been identified as a presenter at the 2014 TEDxMaui event. The partial list also includes: Dave Kalama; Kerrie Urosevich, PhD; Kimi Werner; and Samuel ‘Ohukani‘ōhi‘a Gon, III, PhD.

The 32-mile ocean crossing tests the endurance and daring of men and women as they cross the treacherous waters of the Ka’iwi Channel from Kaluakoi Beach on the north shore of Molokai to Maunaloa Bay on the south shore of Oahu.
