This case comes after nearly two weeks of no newly identified infectious cases related to the current outbreak.

Since the last update on Dec. 24, the Hawai‘i Department of Health reports that the number of confirmed dengue cases has risen from 176 to 190 as of Dec. 30, 2015.

Due to the dengue fever outbreak at Miloli‘i on Hawai‘i Island, the Department of Land and Natural Resources has closed to the public all state unencumbered lands in the immediate vicinity of Miloli‘i village and Honomalino Bay.

The total count includes 128 residents of the Big Island of Hawaiʻi and 17 visitors. Of the confirmed cases, 113 have been adults and 32 have been children under the age of 18.

The total count is now 101, which includes 88 Hawaiʻi residents and 13 visitors. Of the confirmed cases, 78 have been adults and 23 have been children under the age of 18.

Of the confirmed cases, 68 are Hawaiʻi residents and 11 are visitors. The highest risk areas include Naʻalehu, Captain Cook and Kailua Kona.

The confirmed dengue fever count on Hawaiʻi Island has risen to 33, according to new information released today by the State Department of Health.

The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health is investigating two confirmed and four probable cases of dengue fever in Hawaiʻi residents and visitors. Health officials say cases were locally-acquired on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi.
