Disaster Proclamation Issued for Kaumuali’i Highway
Waves eroded approximately 15 feet of the highway shoulder between July 16 and 19. The repairs are aimed at preventing the imminent collapse of the highway.
Kauai’s Kapaa Temporary Bypass to Reopen on Monday
Heavy rains and floods undermined a 36-inch drainage culvert under the road, resulting in its closure on Monday. The HDOT will reopen the south leg of of the bypass on Monday, March 12, weather-permitting.
