Update: Water service gradually returns following well outage in West Kuiaha and Awalau areas of Haʻikū

After a severe electrical issue caused a well outage Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, Department of Water Supply (DWS) water service gradually returned to affected areas of Haʻikū and surrounding communities beginning Monday afternoon.

Haʻikū Brush Fire Burns 3.5 Acres, Now 100% Contained

Hāna Highway is closed both directions at East Kuiaha Road in Haʻikū due to a brush fire. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
