Astronomers using Keck Observatory find a wave of ancient quasars from the dawn of the universe

Astronomers using the W. M. Keck Observatory on Maunakea, Hawaiʻi Island, have confirmed two-thirds (21 of 31) of the most ancient quasars from the Euclid mission, including two of the most distant ever observed.

UH astronomers produce catalog to extensively map universe

A team of researchers from the University of Hawaiʻi and Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary has produced a massive new catalog of high-fidelity distance estimates to more than 350 million galaxies, revealing in detail the soap-bubble structure of the universe.
