#fallen tree maui

While authorities have not said what caused the tree to fall, Maui and the rest of the state are currently under a Wind Advisory due to high pressure building northwest of the island chain.

The 40-foot tree was discovered Friday morning, but is believed to have fallen overnight, county officials said.

The worker was in a hydraulic lift bucket and was repairing phone lines when the incident occurred at 1:39 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013. The lines wree damaged earlier in the morning as the result of another fallen tree.
