The Maui Film Festival’s 17th annual FirstLight: Academy Screenings on Maui event at the Maui Art and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater is offering three days of award-winning movies on Sunday, Dec. 20, Saturday, Dec. 26 and Sunday, Dec. 27.

FirsLight will begin this year’s film festival at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center with the Maui premiere of A View From a Blue Moon on Friday, Nov. 27; the festival will continue on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28 and 29 with eight more film screenings

The Maui Film Festival returns to the Silver Screen at the Castle Theater with its FirstLight Academy Screenings as part of its 16th Annual Celebration of Cinema. The “First Light Sweet Spot” begins today and runs through Tuesday, featuring five days of film screenings, including many critically acclaimed films of 2014. Additional screenings will be held on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 2 and 3, 2014.
