State launches ‘Kōkua Food Drive’ at libraries to support amid federal shutdown

In response to the ongoing federal shutdown and disruptions to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the State of Hawaiʻi has launched the Kōkua Food Drive, a weeklong food collection campaign beginning today in partnership with the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System to support food banks across the islands.

Maui Health donates 4,600 pounds of turkey and rice to Maui Food Bank

Maui Health continued its annual holiday tradition of giving by donating more than 4,600 combined pounds of turkey, vegetarian roast, and rice to the Maui Food Bank. The donation was delivered on Monday, and included nearly 250 frozen turkeys and vegetarian roasts, and a full pallet of 15-pound bags of rice.

In support of World Hunger Day today, Bayer Hawaiʻi employees donated more than 2,700 pounds to the Maui Food Bank, Molokaʻi Salvation Army and the Institute for Human Services on Oʻahu.
