After an iconic Wailea residence was destroyed in a fire, it was rebuilt using sustainable features, eco-friendly materials, and unique and innovative functionality that would make the Jetson’s jealous.

The public is invited to a workshop for Green Street and Sustainable Strategies taking place tonight, Tuesday, May 7, in Kahului. The workshop is one in a series funded by the Environmental Protection Agency, which identified Maui County among the list of communities throughout the US to receive technical assistance in meeting sustainability goals.

EPA staff and national experts will conduct workshops as part of the effort, assisting Maui in developing strategies for greening streets by adapting national best practices and case studies to a local context.

The sustainable science management degree is the third baccalaureate degree program now offered at UHMC.
