Hale Kamaʻāina Mortgage Program offers new incentives to further lower costs for first-time homebuyers
Up to $3,000 more in funding is now available to each of the first 35 homebuyers in the Hale Kamaʻāina Mortgage Program, a state initiative aimed at offering first-time homebuyers below market rate mortgages.
Hawaiʻi Legislature passed 320 bills; Gov. Green intends to veto 19 of them
Gov. Josh Green, M.D., today informed legislative leaders and stakeholders of his intent to veto 19 bills passed during the 2025 regular session of the Hawai‘i State Legislature. Green has until July 9 to issue final vetoes. All other bills will become law by July 9.
Fair Housing Month Conference, April 24
The Hawaiʻi Civil Rights Commission and agencies statewide are hosting a free Fair Housing Month Conference on April 24, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to promote awareness and understanding of fair housing laws. Move-in begins at former Haggai Institute: Eight Maui wildfire survivor families get keys to Hale ‘O Lā‛ie

Among them are Maui residents Bruce Uʻu to the Land Use Commission, Carol Reimann to the Hawaiʻi Housing Finance and Development Corporation, Wesley Lo to the Board of Education, Elaine Yamashita to the Early Learning Board and Nathaniel Oswald to the Board of Agriculture.
