Kalaupapa Meeting Focuses on Potential Post Office Closures

A two hour meeting is underway t the McVeigh Social Hall on Molokai to discuss the potential closure of the town’s Post Office at Kalaupapa. The post office was among four in the state that were included on a list of potential closures released by the US Postal Service.

Akaka Urges Legislation to Prevent a Postal Shutdown

The hearing comes on the heels of an announcement in July that the USPS was considering consolidation plans, and had identified a number of locations for possible closure including Kalaupapa on Molokai.
