The confirmed cases included: 29 on O‘ahu; 11 on Maui (-1 probable); seven on Hawai‘i Island (-1 probable); seven on Kaua‘i; one on Moloka‘i; and two in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.

Lessons learned from last year’s cluster traced to three fitness centers in Hawai‘i, are highlighted in a scientific paper published today in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

There were 89 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Monday, including 62 on O‘ahu, nine on Maui, four on Hawaiʻi Island and 14 in Hawaiʻi residents diagnosed outside of the state.

Several clusters on Maui are being tracked by the state Department of Health, including small clusters arising from activity at a construction site. In another cluster, DOH officials say five Maui residents held a party on Oʻahu.  One case from the party attended another gathering while ill and symptomatic.  Nine cases were later associated with this party.

On Hawaiʻi Island, a cluster at a fast food restaurant in Kona has resulted in 12 positive cases–including seven workers and five family members of two of the employees.
