Maui County’s Unemployment Rate Falls to 10.4% for May 2021, State’s at 7.5%
Maui County’s unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) for May 2021 fell to 10.4%, a decrease of 0.8% from last month, according to data just released today by the Hawai‘i State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations.
Maui County’s Unemployment Rate Drops to 11.5% in April 2021
Maui County’s unemployment rate, not seasonally adjusted, dropped to 11.5% in April 2021. It is drastically lower than the 32.9% rate a year ago when the pandemic shutdown much of the island’s economy, and slightly lower than the 12.3% unemployment rate in March 2021, according to information from the Hawaiʻi State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations.
Hawaiʻi Unemployment Rate Drops Slightly to 9% for March 2021, But Higher Than National Rate of 6%
The state of Hawaiʻi’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March 2021 was 9 percent compared to 9.2 percent in February, with 590,800 people employed and 58,750 unemployed in March for a total seasonally adjusted labor force of 649,550, according to the Hawai‘i State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations.
