Through workshops, cultural experiences, and legislative simulations, students strengthen their voices, practice collaboration, and envision their role in shaping Hawaiʻi’s future—honoring the program’s roots while responding to the needs of today’s lāhui. 

The collaboration supports the short film “The Arrangements,” written and directed by Sonny Ganaden, which follows Micronesian youth as they honor the passing of a friend through shared ritual and resilience.

The Stupski Foundation is providing $17.4 million in support of organizations working to ensure that students across Hawai‘i, particularly those on neighbor islands, have access to the same educational, leadership, and career-building experiences as their peers on O‘ahu, reinforcing the belief that geographic isolation should not determine a young person’s access to opportunity. The House Committee on Health unanimously passed House Bill 756 on Friday to prohibit the sale of flavored nicotine products and the mislabeling of e-liquids as being “nicotine free.”

The bill would create a competitive grant program to expand access to community-oriented education and support programs for young people.
