Wind Warning for Oʻahu, Advisory for Haleakalā, Mauna Loa and Maunakea

The forecast calls for northeast winds of 20-35 mph with localized gusts of up to 50 mph on Kauaʻi, Niʻihau, windward Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Maui and portions of Hawaiʻi Island. The advisory remains in effect through Friday evening.

Special Weather Statement: Windy, Wet Conditions Friday Through Sunday

The NWS says very windy and wet conditions are expected from Friday through Sunday. Winds are expected to increase by Friday morning as a strong high pressure system builds in north of the Hawaiian Islands.
