Gov. Ige Supports Making International Travel Easier
Hawaii Gov. David Ige applauds the preclearance program, in which immigration, customs and agriculture inspections can be completed before departure from the originating country, allowing passengers to avoid additional processing or delays at domestic airports.
Preclearance Will Allow Direct Foreign Travel to Neighbor Islands
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security intends to expand preclearance to 10 new foreign airports, including Japan’s Narita International Airport, providing greater ease of access to the Hawaiian Islands.
Governor Ige Returns from National Governors Meeting in Washington DC
“Visiting the White House and meeting with President Obama, not once but several times, was a highlight,” said Ige. “It was an honor and a privilege to be part of the Oval Office signing ceremony designating the Honouliuli Camp a National Historic Monument.”
