There are several construction projects taking place across Maui this week. Three projects involve work on the Honoapiʻilani Highway, and another project is planned on the Kula Highway in Upcountry, Maui.

An estimated $3 million in state funds were released today for shoreline improvements to the Honoapiʻilani Highway on Maui, Governor Neil Abercrombie announced.

Road work begins today on improvements to the Puklani Bypass between the Pukalani Junction and Five Trees, according to a public notice issued by Maui Paving LLC.

There are several construction projects taking place across Maui this week. Maui Paving Co. continues work on road resurfacing and street improvements on Wākea Avenue. Work will impact traffic on the section of Wākea Avenue just south of Kaʻahumanu Avenue, across the entrance of the University of Hawaii Maui College Campus.

The current phase of the project involves work from Kai Hele Ku Street and Launiupoko State Park. Speed limits are reduced in the work zone area.

Motorists who utilize the Honoapiilani Highway for their commute have likely noticed roadwork on the mauka side of the highway, in the area between Papalaua Wayside Park and Ukumehame Beach Park.
