#HOPE Services Hawaiʻi

Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, the Maui nonprofit that has provided emergency shelter and homeless services on the island for more than 40 years, is one of three Hawaiʻi organizations whose medical respite care programs have earned certification from the National Institute for Medical Respite Care, according to the organizations. It is the first time agencies in Hawaiʻi have received the designation.

The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation announced the appointment of Janice Ikeda to its Board of Governors, effective March 30, 2026.

Kaiser Permanente Hawaiʻi has awarded grants totaling $1,491,882 to two local nonprofits and one public university to expand behavioral health care services for the houseless on Hawaiʻi Island and accelerate mental health professional training and licensure throughout the state.
