Seven public school students from Maui County were among the 42 individuals selected for Citizen-Scholar Awards. More than $60,000 in scholarships was distributed to public high school seniors during a luncheon on Wednesday.

The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association recognized six hotel workers from various Maui properties who all won first place at the Hawaiʻi Tourism & Lodging Association’s Nā Poʻe Paʻahana Awards this week.

Maui County recipients include: Baldwin High School, Julia A. Kimoto; Hāna High & Elementary School, Precious Helekahi; Kekaulike High School, Isabelle Mosbarger; Lahainaluna High School, Natasha Currence; Lānaʻi High & Elementary School, Nicholas M. Niimi; Maui High School, Jacy M. Sera; and Molokaʻi High School, Cendall E. Manley.
