Matson Crew Honored for Rescuing Boaters Caught in Hurricane Julio
The US Coast Guard presented awards to crew members of the Matson ship Manukai for the Aug. 10, 2014, rescue of three men from a sailboat caught in the winds and seas of Hurricane Julio off of Oʻahu. The Meritorious Public Service award was presented on Monday to John Bloomingdale, Captain of the Manukai, 3rd Mate Justin Moore and 2nd Engineer Josef Eggert.
