Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Youth Internship Program Internship Program: Kū No Ka Pono o Haleakalā (“standing up for what is right for Haleakalā” in Hawaiian).

There are eight positions available in the fields of Endangered Wildlife Management, Facilities Management, Interpretation, the Kīpahulu District, and Visitor/Resources Protection. One Team Leader will also be chosen. Students interested in natural resources careers are encouraged to apply.

Nineteen Maui students were selected from two summer internship programs at Haleakalā National Park. The programs were created last year to encourage high school and college students to learn about the National Park Service and explore potential careers.

Local high school students have an opportunity to obtain hands on experience working in a national park setting through a new Pohai Maile internship program at Haleakala National Park.
