Pono Pacific runs volunteer day for ua‘u habitat restoration on Lāna‘i

Pono Pacific Land Management, LLC (Pono Pacific), Hawai‘i’s largest private natural resource conservation company, in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and Pūlama Lāna‘i, recently hosted a volunteer ua‘u (Hawaiian petrel) habitat restoration event on Lāna‘i to celebrate World Conservation Day.

Volunteer Day at Keālia Wildlife Refuge, May 18

The Maui Nui Marine Resource Council will partner with Keālia National Wildlife Refuge staff to remove invasive plant species that threaten to overgrow and crowd out native plants along the Boardwalk. Volunteers will meet at the Keālia NWR Visitor Center at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 and carpool to the first entrance of the boardwalk for the volunteer day. The workday will conclude at 11 a.m.
