Nicholas Kealiʻi Lum is weaving tradition and innovation into his in-depth studies of mele at University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Ka Haka ʻUla O Keʻelikōlani College of Hawaiian Language.

Windows 8 includes a Hawaiian keyboard layout in the operating system, fonts containing diacritical marks used in the Hawaiian language, and other localized resources such as the ability to show days of the week and months in Hawaiian.

Plans for a building to house the University’s expanding Hawaiian Studies programs, was identified as a need more than 20 years ago.
