Hawaiʻi designates April 27 as Brother Joseph Dutton Day for his work at Kalaupapa Settlement on Molokaʻi

Joseph Dutton spent the last 44 years of his life in service to the patients with Hansen’s Disease, also known as leprosy, who were forced to live at the isolated Kalaupapa Settlement on Moloka’i.
