Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been tapped to play the starring title role of Kamehameha I in film THE KING, New Line Cinema has confirmed.

The Royal Order of Kamehameha I – Kahekili Chapter IV on Maui commemorates the life of Kamehameha the Great in procession in Kahului on Saturday, June 11, 2016.

In honor of King Kamehameha, guests and associates of Starwood Maui today presented an ‘Iolani Palace-inspired float at the Nā Kamehameha Pā‘ū Parade and Ho‘olaule‘a in Lāhainā.
