Maui police today released a photo of the actual badge that Raymond Hodge used during a deadly shootout with police at Keōpūolani Park in Wailuku on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, and have since confirmed the item was a fake.

The deceased in the incident at Keōpūolani Park on Wednesday, Aug. 5,2015 has been identified as Raymond Hodge, a 39 year old male.

Police say he removed a small caliber handgun and fired at the officers. Officers returned fire, striking the male who sustained injuries and later died at the scene.
