There will be unusually high water levels during peak high tides this week, creating the likelihood for coastal flooding. Breezy south winds Tuesday and Christmas Day may increase the wave run-up along south-facing shores. The highest predictions on Maui are for Hāna in East Maui, where a high tide of 2.89 feet is forecast for 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019.
