Water System Upgrade in Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā NP

The National Park Service will begin to replace approximately 4,800 feet of waterline pipe in the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.

No Water at Kīpahulu Until Further Notice

In the next few months, the leak will be identified and repaired. Long-term, the park has plans to replace the water system in the next two years.

Officials at the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park say there will be very limited water available for drinking over the next two weeks while water pumps are replaced.

Limited Restrooms, No Drinking Water in Kīpahulu District of Park

Officials at Haleakalā National Park on Maui say a water main lead has resulted in no drinking water in the Kīpahulu District of the park, and limited restroom facilities until further notice.
