BRIEF: First Phase of Lahaina Bypass Opens
The new stretch of road extends a little less than a mile from Lahainaluna Road to Keawe Street, creating an alternate route that runs parallel to the busy Honoapiilani Highway below. The $77 million project was made possible with 80% federal and 20% state funding, according to the DOT.
