Storer, a 15-year-old sophomore at Kamehameha Schools Maui and member of the Lahaina Swim Club, set new records in the 50-yard freestyle (20.41 seconds), 100 free (44.66), 50 backstroke (22.52) and 100 back (48.96), winning all four races at the meet.

The Coach Soichi Sakamoto Invitational swim meet has been a staple on the Hawai’i sports calendar for most of the past 49 years. This year it drew 232 swimmers from around the state and two teams from the Mainland.
