US Senator Mazie Hirono, along with her colleague Senator Booker of N.J., announced their plan to introduce the Learning Opportunity and Achievement Act or LOAA, which seeks to improve distance and blended learning in public schools during the coronavirus pandemic.

A particular feature known as Loa’a or Pōkāneloa, is a collection of petroglyphs and cupules located on the top surface of a large flat boulder. Studies suggest that it may possess an archaeo-astronomical significance in Hawaiian culture.
