When a wildfire devastated the island of Maui on Aug. 8, killing at least 97 people and destroying more than 2,000 homes, the FBI offered assistance to law enforcement partners on Maui. Today that assistance continues as teams work to identify remains and confirm individuals who are unaccounted for.

Two women were transported to the hospital in stable condition after complaints of a noxious odor at the County Morgue in Wailuku on Wednesday. A total of about 10 people were evacuated from the building when students reported feeling ill from odors within.
