Public Comment Period Open for Workforce Investment Act

The County of Maui’s Draft Local Area Plan under Title I of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and Wagner-Peyser Act continues to be available for public comment through May 2, 2013.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March for Maui declined to 5.3%, from 5.5% in February.

The number of initial unemployment claims filed in Maui rose 35%, the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism said Thursday.
