Budget Bill includes funds for a Maui Axis Deer program, Bovine Tuberculosis operations on Molokaʻi
On Maui, the budget includes the addition of $6.1 million in general funds in FY24 and FY25 for the Maui Axis Deer program; $1.1 million in FY25 for six months of funding to support new housing at the Maui Community Correctional Center; and the addition of three permanent positions and $98,500 in FY24 and $200,250 in FY25 for UH Maui College’s health center.
Community budget meetings planned on Molokaʻi, Hāna and Pāʻia
The next community budget meetings for Fiscal Year 2024 are set for: Molokaʻi at the Mitchell Pauʻole Community Center, on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, starting at 4 p.m.; Hāna at the Hāna Bay Pavilion, on Wednesday, Oct. 26, starting at 4 p.m.; and the Pāʻia Community Center on Thursday, Oct. 27, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Kualapu`u Elementary School on Moloka`i Receives $2.75 million
“The $2.75 million would cover design and construction for a new water line and/or provisions for fire suppression; ground and site improvements and equipment are a major step in our continued school maintenance initiatives,” said Rep. Carroll.
