The state Department of Health is reporting a COVID-19 count of 4,789 new cases today, including 676 on Maui, 41 on Molokaʻi, and 17 on Lānaʻi. This surpasses the previous record high of 3,484 new cases set on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021.

The County of Maui launches free drive-through COVID-19 testing six days a week beginning today, Jan. 3, at the War Memorial Stadium parking lot in Wailuku, and continuing through the end of the month.
