Samoan-American comedian, actor, writer, and producer Anette Arinix Aga has won the ‘OHINA Greenlight Award for her script of “Kamaʻāina Not Kanaka,” granting her $20,000-worth of production support toward her script becoming a completed short film.

Following a successful run as the lead for the Hōʻikeʻike Performing Arts – Film and New Media Program in the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture (FestPAC), Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) has announced the opening of its two primary funding opportunities that support filmmakers.

The Hawai‘i state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism’s Creative Industries Division is supporting awards season marketing for local films. This is in an effort to reach global audiences and pave the way toward a more vibrant locally created media industry.
