Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia make landfall at French Polynesia’s Taputapuātea
On Tuesday, at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s traditional voyaging canoes Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia, accompanied by Tahiti’s canoe Fa‘afaite, arrived at their first stop in French Polynesia: Taputapuātea.
Polynesian Cultural Center to host a free community show in Lahaina, Maui on June 4
To celebrate the Maui community and the arrival of Iosepa, a traditional Hawaiian voyaging canoe, the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) will host a free community show in Lahaina, Maui. The hour-long event on Tuesday, June 4, 2025 will feature vibrant Polynesian music and dance and is open to the public. Activities begin at 7 p.m. at the Lahaina Civic Center. Admission is free.
