RESTORED: 3,758 on Maui Lose Power, Tree Branch to Blame
An estimated 3,758 customers lost power this morning after a tree branch came into contact with lines on Malaihi Road in Waiehu.
UPDATE: Thousands Lose Power in Nāhiku, Waiehu, Makawao
Due to heavy rains last night that caused trees to come down on power lines as well as a vehicle pole accident in Haiku, approximately 2,850 customers in areas of Waiehu, Haiku and Nahiku are currently without power.
MECO Maalaea Generating Unit Trips Offline
Brief outages were reported in parts of Lahaina, Waiehu and Upcountry Maui, after a large diesel generating unit at the Maui Electric Company Maalaea Power Plant tripped offline.
