Aloha Maui Pride presents 2025 Pride Month events, June 1-14
Aloha Maui Pride has announced the 2025 Pride Month Events June 1-14, with many activities for the first two weeks in June leading up to the Maui Pride Festival 2025, held in partnership with the Maui AIDS Foundation on June 14.
Pride flag raised last week in celebration of Pride Month was removed twice; police report filed
The Pride Flag hung by the County of Maui as a celebration of national June Pride Month was illegally removed twice after it was raised during a Proclamation and flag ceremony last week outside the County building, organization leaders with Aloha Maui Pride said. The County filed two police reports and is continuing its ongoing investigation, the organization reports.
Activities planned for Pride Month on Maui
A number of activities are scheduled in June to celebrate Pride Month on Maui.
Mayor Issues Proclamation for National Coming Out Day
Maui Mayor Michael Victorino proclaimed Oct. 11, 2021 National Coming Out Day in the County of Maui. The proclamation raises awareness of the LGBTQ+ community and coincides with the annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender History Month.
June is “Aloha Pride Month” in the County of Maui
The County Building was lit in rainbow colors on Friday night and the rainbow flag will fly in front of the Kalana o Maui building throughout the month of June in celebration of Aloha Pride Month in the County of Maui, serving as a reminder “to extend aloha to all.”
